If Golden Offer Nears 55-45 Split, Pacquiao Must Grab It And Run!

Fair is fair and what?s fair for the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar de la Hoya Megacircus bout to become a reality for Dec. 6 in Las Vegas is not the 60-40 percentage split that the Golden Boy is currently demanding.

All due respect to the Golden One but what would be fair and what should be almost instantly doable would be a 55-45 split. Some Pacman loyalists, the heads expanding too much with the Pinoy idol?s success, may think a 50-50 divide would be reasonable but it?s not.

De la Hoya has been a legend for a long, long time and, because of that, he deserves the lion?s share of all the money that will roll in. It?s also likely that this will be Oscar?s final fight and that should be factored in as well.

I say this fight can and will be made, maybe even by this time next week, after the parties take another look at the boxing bonanza which ripe for the plucking by both camps.

If either or both sides stick their heads in the sand, then shame on them. Then I?d have to repeat Angleo Dundee?s famous battle cry which rallied Sugar Ray Leonard against Thomas Hearns, ?You?re blowing it, son.?

Pacman can never get an equal share and, again, he does not deserve it. There is something to be said for seniority here.

On the other hand, I don’t see any other “little giants” rising up to battle Oscar, do you? Another Pacquiao plus is Filipinos around the globe will watch this megabout.

And what about those Mexicans who either dislike Oscar’s public persona or his smooth boxing style? Don’t think Pacman hasn’t earned a big fan base among them and other Latinos who love his blazing, aggressive, attacking style.

If the Golden gang offers 55-45, or a point or two below 60-40, Megamanny better grab it with his hot little hands and run to the boxing bank.
