General Santos City (22 July) — After winning his latest and third title as the World’s Lightweight Champion, the people’s champ, Emmanuel “Pacman” Pacquiao will be winning more hearts of Sarangani indigents as he intend to sponsor all of them under Philhealth’s Indigent Program.
With the negotiation done by Philhealth XII Asst. Vice President, Ramon F. Aristoza, Jr. Field Operations Division Chief, Dr. Miriam Grace G. Pamonag, Gens. Santos City Service Office Head, Nol S. Valila in the presence of the municipal mayor of Malandag, Malungon, Sarangani Province, Mayor Reynaldo F. Constantino, Pacman pronounced his plan to sponsor not only those indigents from Malungon but the entire province.
“If I sponsor only those coming from here, it would be unfair for other Sarangans so please provide me the statistics of qualified families and give me the computation,” he said.
AVP Aristoza presented the initial proposal prepared by the Field Operations Division about the program in general, the vision mission of the corporation, the benefits that the members may avail and other packages and services that may be given by Philhealth’s accredited provider.
The capitation fund which serves as a return of investment for the sponsor was likewise mentioned since it is a part of the program to give three hundred (Php300) back for every one family registered to be pooled for the improvement of services of the Rural Health Unit where the member may avail of their basic laboratory services, free medicines and check up.
