Jinkee Pacquiao, the lovely wife of Pinoy boxing Manny Pacquiao, said she felt that the Pinoy boxing icon would be in for a tough fight against David Diaz last week in Las Vegas.
She was wrong.
?I really thought David Diaz was strong because of his huge body,? Jinkee, always at ringside when Pacquiao fights in the US, said during a TV interview the other day.
?I was really nervous after seeing Diaz. But I realized that it?s not the size of the body that matters but the power being the punch, the strength,? she said.
The first round of the scheduled 12-rounder at Mandalay Bay last week, however, gave Jinkee the impression that her husband is just too strong for the American champion.
?Right after the first round I said to myself ?Diaz has no chance of winning.? I even thought the fight wouldn?t last more than three rounds. Diaz was not that good after all,? she added.
In the days leading to the fight, Jinkee refused to make any predictions.
?I prefer not to make any predictions,? she said on the eve of the fight, even if she was the only one who called it right when she said Pacquiao would knock out Erik Morales in the 10th round in 2006.
During the TV interview, Jinkee also said reports about her husband?s total earnings for his most recent fight is giving her the creeps.
?The figures being mentioned in reports are just too enormous. Sometimes I get scared going out these days. But it?s okay. Besides, we have no enemies,? she said of reports that Pacquiao stands to get $5 million for the Diaz bout.
