El Terrible?s manager picks Pacquiao

LAS VEGAS ? Fernando Beltran, the swashbuckling chief handler of Erik Morales, said on Friday that Manny Pacquiao will get past David Diaz of the US in their 12-round slugfest Saturday night at Mandalay Bay.

“If Manny Pacquiao shows up in his best, it will be an easy fight,” said Beltran, who was in Morales? corner when Diaz beat Morales in August last year.

But if Pacquiao didn?t train hard and takes Diaz lightly, “it?s going to be a tough fight.”

Beltran, who also hails from Tijuana like Morales, said Morales has gained so much weight in the last ten months but hasn?t ruled out the possibility of making a ring comeback.

“He can still fight at lightweight,” said Beltran.

“But right now, he is heavy,” said Beltran, motioning with his two hands a bloated belly.

Beltran said that it is not remote if Morales might end up facing Pacquiao for the fourth time.

“Morales is the only one to beat Pacquiao,” said Beltran before taking the elevator.

It could not be determined if Morales will be at ringside although Beltran said the fighter has opted to stay in Mexico but Mexican journalist revealed that El Terrible is showing up on fight night.
