LAS VEGAS ? David Diaz is ready to rumble.
In fact, he said he was ready to slug it out with Manny Pacquiao right after Friday?s weigh-in.
?I?m ready to go today if they wanted us,? said Diaz as he got off the stage after tipping the scales at exactly 135 lbs, the lightweight limit.
Too bad, he said, that the fight, which many believe won?t last the scheduled 12 rounds, won?t be staged until Saturday evening.
He got near the rail to greet some friends and do an interview with a Spanish crew when Pinoy scribes got a quick hold of him.
Diaz was asked if he was ready to go when he made the remark.
?But we got to wait for tomorrow for everybody,? he said.
?But I have no worries. Everything is good. The scales were good and I am good,? he added.
Diaz loves to crack jokes during interviews, and loves to make fun of himself, too.
But he looked serious when he said he was ready to rumble.
