The East Coast wig of BC decided to ?go native? in setting the tone for Megamanny?s WBC lightweight title shot against the champ from Chicago. So that mean dinner Thursday night was taken at Elvie?s Toro-Toro at 214 First Avenue, between 12th and 13th Streets in the East Village of Manhattan.
Elvie herself, a delightful friendly Pinay, hosted the boys as they dug in with knife and fork on mongo, on chicken and pork adobo, pinkabet and longaniza. Dessert was, what else, halo-halo which Koza said is much superior to the rations of gelatin he got as a kid in Moldova.

With stomachs full of Pinoy staples, Marley and Koza then went Russian, hitting the Russian Samovar and its across the street neighbor Russian Vodka Room. Marley had 14 crafes of cranberry infused vodka and was still standing but three big bottles of Baltika beer put Koza on the ropes.
Koza even spoke Russian to fellow patrons including a shady looking cat who a woman told us is ?the Howard Stern of Russia.? But, in terms of drinking, Slavic just makes too many rookie mistakes.
