Both of the premium cable boxing networks are showing strong interest in a Nate Campbell-Joan Guzman WBO mandatory lightweight title bout. Campbell, who also holds the WBA and IBF straps, is ready to fight the undefeated Dominican asap.
Long inactive Guzman, who has not laced them up since he beat Mexican hardman Humberto Soto last November, is also ready to mix quick, fast and in a hurry.
One of the networks is looking at August and early September dates for what could be a scintillating matchup of two slick ring veterans.
The winner of this fight would loom large as a potential Megamanny Pacquiao foe.
Joel Casamayor has been officially notified?duh??that he is no longer the WBO interim champ for not enforcing his mandatory rights. The Cuban clouter will fight Juan Manuel Marquez, perhaps on Sept. 13 in Houston. Casamayor is still The Ring magazine champion and The Ring is still owned by his promoter, Golden Boy.
