Roscoe?s Chicken & Waffles locations around LA are definitely the bomb but it looks like there?s some waffling going on at Global Boy, excuse me Golden Boy, headquarters downtown as well.
With a June 3 deadline looming large for Joel Casamayor to sign a contract to fight lightweight champion Nate Campbell, GBP officials are having second, third and fourth thoughts about instead putting Juan ?Baby Bull? Diaz into the ring Sept. 13 in Houston against the Cuban cutie.
?The Goldens are telling the Casa camp they?re getting different smoke signals from Mexico, from the Juan Manuel Marquez camp?and that Juan Ma may be willing to battle Casamayor. Joel would take it in a heartbeat because he?ll get more moolah than he would for either Juan Diaz or Campbell.
Don King, Soupy Campbell?s co-promoter, won the WBO purse bid with an envelope for $1.22 million.
Whither Juan? Evidently, the Goldens feel they need to ?baby? their infant Bull and are now leaning toward having him fight the more beatable and one dimensional Michae; Katsidis.
You can?t question Diaz-Katsidis because that would be the sort of ?confidence builder? the Houstonian needs after getting drubbed by Campbell in Cancun.
Casamayor, turning 37 in July, really cares less about who the opponent is. His key question is only cuanto queso, or how much.
