Freddie Roach’s ears have been burning. Prior to Manny Pacquaio reporting for duty at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, the Pinoy idol’s discipline-minded trainer has been irritatred by continual comments about what an easy task his charge will have on June 28.
Even Mrs. Pacman, the lovely Jinkee, chimed in recently, saying she was “comfortable” with WBC lightweight champ David Diaz as hubby’s first 135-pound foe. Mrs. Pacman said she saw DD fight on the Pacquiao-JM Marquez undercard and she was underwhelmed by the Chicagoan’s effort.
Some of Roach’s Boston Irish Mafia pals say that such downgrading of Diaz has been driving him nuts. Those same intimates now report to Boxingconfidential.com that an up close and personal look at Pacquiao has put Roach more at ease.
This photo shows Pacman pounding the heavy bag at the Wild Card Thursday and this leads to the obvious question, which moves quicker, the bag or Diaz?
