DETHRONED super featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez wants to make things clear why he is in town.
In an interview with sportsnews.ph inside the coffee shop of the posh EDSA Shangri-La where Marquez stayed, the Mexican fighters said he is visiting the Philippines to demand a fight and not to beg for one against Filipino boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao.
Marquez? visit, though it seems welcome for Filipinos who got to see him personally, has been also bombarded by nasty remarks from rabid Pacquiao fans by saying that the Mexican boxer appears desperate in getting that third fight.
Marquez lost his World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight belt via a razor-thin split verdict to Pacquiao last month in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Nearly four years before that in May 2004, Marquez settled for a split draw against Pacquiao this time for the Mexican?s WBA and IBF featherweight belts.
