WBO Orders Campbell-Casamayor

I order Michael Marley to cease from devouring every cupcake he lays his eyes on. I order Ricardo ?RiGordo? Lois to slow down his consumption of porterhouse steaks on his lunch break. My orders go unheard being that I?m not in a position to enforce either ?order?.

I want hundreds of millions of dollars, a Maserati, an unlimited supply of beer, a pet giraffe, a tuba, a boxing advisory group, a new fishing pole, and free pizza for the rest of my life? it doesn?t matter. I don?t deserve the finer things in life and it?s just the way it goes.

The breaking, astounding, stupendous and jubilant news of today is that apparently the World Boxing Organization has ordered a rematch between Joel Casayamor & Nate Campbell. Being that discussions have apparently already started to take place between ?El Cepillo? & the come backing ?Baby Bull? Juan Diaz, these ?orders? just might go unheard.

Similar to when I was bartending and heard an order for a drink I seemingly wasn?t capable of making such as? anything other than pouring beer.

I love how these o-so-powerful sanctioning organizations make certain demands that actually expose their lack of authority within boxing.

Guess what happens if the mandate doesn?t go through? A fighter now stands to be ten, twenty, or however many thousands of dollars richer due to not having to pay the sanctioning fees of each organization.

If I were Nate Campbell or Joel Casamayor? I?d give the WBO the middle finger and then proceed to fight whomever I might please to.

As for Marco Antonio Barrera and his wanting a trilogy bout with Manny Pacquiao? this has to be one of the most amusing statements of 2008.

Being that the rematch between the ?Baby Face Survivor? and the ?Pacman? was a memorable one for the ages with the multiple knockdowns and overall ferocity of both combatants, I can see were Barrera feels as though the fans are clamoring for a trilogy bout.

There?s nothing that builds a trilogy bout like two previous one-sided victories for the same man.

Should Barrera choose continue his career, the only fighters that true fight fans would like to see him engage with are Edwin Valero, Humberto Soto, or Joan Guzman.

Anybody else would be just another attempt to make an unheralded payday in order to fatten the bank account and as is apparent this weekend, boxing fans are picking and choosing their battles carefully.

What people must come to understand is that as spending tightens in this economic downturn that we surely face, boxing fans will no longer continue spending anything on fights deemed unworthy of doing so. Expensive ticket prices and costly trips to Las Vegas will no longer be considered a drop in the bucket.

This year should be interesting as the decrease in spending cash will cause some perceived blockbusters to flop massively.

Mark my words?
