LAS VEGAS ? Whatever happens Saturday evening, Juan Manuel Marquez said up next in his busy schedule is vacation with his family, including his wife and kids.
Marquez trained three months for this fight, high up in the mountains of Toluca in Mexico, and he said the most difficult part of training is putting his family aside.
?I will go on vacation with my family. Because the family, you always put them on the aside when you train,? he said through an interpreter.
Marquez said when the fight is over, win or lose, planning the vacation will be next on his mind.
?They deserve a vacation,? he said.
?Then I will wait, wait for a new date, wait for a new opponent. But if I win, I will fight Manny Pacquiao again,? Marquez added.
Pacquiao said a few days ago he?d invite Marquez to visit the Philippines after the fight.
Marquez was asked if this was possible.
?Yes of course,? he said. ?I?ve been to Indonesia and it was a great experience for me. I can go to the Philippines. That would be nice.?
Feelers have been sent to the Marquez camp for him to do a commercial in the Philippines, and for him to follow the footsteps of Erik Morales who has starred with Pacquiao in a huge San Miguel Beer ad.
Marco Antonio Barrera is reportedly set to shoot his own commercial in the Philippines.
Who knows? Marquez may be next.
