Fightbeat has just learned that the March 2nd clash between the reigning WBO bantamweight champion Gerry Penalosa and Ratanachai Sor Vorapin is off. Although the reasons still remain unclear, our sources indicate the problem is with the TV network ABS-CBN possibly failing to live up to some promotional obligations.
With the recent media battle between Penalosa and De Leon taking place on FightBeat.com, we anticipate the Vorapin clash will disappear in favor of a rematch between both fighters.
Goldenboy Promotions could not be reached for comment.
FightBeat will keep you up to date as we learn more about the situation.
