FIGHT fans were utterly impressed with Z ?The Dream? Gorres when he showcased his speed and powerful punching skills in his public sparring match last Thursday, Jan. 17 at the ALA Gym in Banilad Town Center.
Gorres started his public practice session by skipping ropes, stretching and shadowboxing.
After sweating it out with mild exercises, ?The Dream? then geared up for his sparring match and first up was a much bigger Glen Masicampo.
Gorres used his speed to dodge most of Masicampo?s punches and countered with combinations and powerful hay makers. Clearly their sparring was a mismatch because the lightweight Masicampo simply couldn?t catch the agile Gorres as he displayed tremendous body control and lightning-fast footwork.
There was even a time that he rocked the bigger fighter Masicampo and the large crowd of boxing fans went wild.
Next up was a smaller Mark Gil Melligen brother of RP Junior Welterweight champion Mark Jason Millegen, who will also see action as an under-card in the Gorres- Darchinyan International Boxing Federation super flyweight eliminator this Feb. 2 at the Waterfront Hotel against Indonesian Tia Koswara.
Millegen started out aggressively throwing power punches and connecting from his beautiful jabs, which hurt Gorres. The latter showed his skills inside the ring and connected most of his powerful combinations, stunning the bantamweight Millegen.
The crowd was then pleased by what they saw and applauded each time Gorres hit his sparring partner with his fast and powerful combinations.
Meanwhile, Gorres has surpassed his target goal of 100 rounds of sparring and will do an additional 18 to 20 rounds.

?Gorres is 100 percent ready for his IBF super flyweight title eliminator with Darchinyan,? Villamor said confidently.
