Joel Camilleri of Australia defeated Arnel Tinampay of the Philippines in dominant fashion during their 10-round middleweight battle at the Melbourne Arena in Australia Friday night to capture the WBC Australasia Title promoted by Peter Maniatis Events and CamaKO. Judges scores were 100-90, 99-91, 99-91 all in favor of Camilleri.
“Joel Camilleri showed very good movement and hand speed and controlled the tempo of the fight but the fight was fought at a high level,” Maniatis told PhilBoxing. “But Arnel Tinampay fought a brave fight and was gallant in defeat.”
