Michael Katsidis has declared his total support for Filipino great Manny Pacquiao – but only because he wants to fight him in 2008. The Australian slugger hopes to score decisive victories over Pacquiao and Joel Casamayor in 2008. Coming off a brutal win over Filipino Czar Amonsot, Katsidis faces Casamayor on March 22, a week after Pacquiao fights a rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez. “We really want Manny to beat Marquez,” said Katsidis’ trainer/manager Brendon Smith. “Blind Freddy can see HBO is moving to stage a fight betweeen Michael and Manny in 2008. “The telecast of Michael against Casamayor will feature a replay of the Manny-Marquez rematch and HBO wants to match the two winners. “Manny against Michael will be The Fight of 2008. “And Manny will get a huge shock. Michael is much stronger and has a bigger punch than anyone Manny has fought. He is much stronger than any junior-lightweight out there, stronger than any lightweight. “We hope Manny beats Marquez but something tells me Marquez has got his measure. The way he fought back against Manny in the first fight indicates Manny is in for a very tough time in the rematch.”
