Between 1 to 10, it?s 10 plus-Marquez

JUAN Manuel Marquez, World Boxing Council super featherweight champion, says he is happy to give Manny ?Pacman? Pacquiao another rematch.

Marquez cockily said that he is better than Pacquiao and will surely win their epic fight on March 15 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

?I?m telling you again that I?m going to demonstrate who?s better and I?ll win this one. Then I?ll be happy to give Manny a rematch but only if he accepts the smaller purse,? said the WBC super featherweight champion in a report posted at philboxing.com

While Pacman was partying in the Philippines with his promoter Bob Arum and trainer Freddie Roach on his birthday last week the Mexican champ was training in Mexico.

Marquez has a three-month training program, including running among extinct volcanoes in Mexico. He is training in the Romanza gym.

Marquez is five pounds over his previous weight, but is confident that he will be in the best shape of his career because he believes that this is the most important fight of his life.

?On a scale of one to 10, the rematch with Manny is a 10-plus,? he said.

Marquez already has some southpaw sparring partners ready for his training.

Trainer Ignacio ?Nacho? Beristain has arranged for the American boxer Freddie Norwood to come to Mexico and train with the champion. Norwood fought with Marquez for the World Boxing Association title in 1999 and defeated him by points.

?I?m going to use a mixture of aggression, counter-punching lateral movement but above all my intelligence as a boxer to defeat Manny,? said Marquez on the strategy that he will use against the Filipino Ring Idol.

Marquez thinks that he is a better fighter and he is not scared of Pacquiao, dubbed terminator of Mexican fighters

?Manny is very strong but he?s not technical. Manny doesn?t like it when you go looking for the fight. He doesn?t know how to back up. He?s called a terminator of Mexican fighters but with me, no.?

Pacquiao already defeated two of Mexico?s top three, Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera.

In their first encounter, Pacquiao dropped Marquez to the canvass three times in the first round, but Marquez fought technically and used counterpunches to salvage the draw. (EKA)
