Mexican Fight Fans Totally Respect Pacquiao But Dream Of His Destruction!

If you listen to respected Mexican boxing personality ?Nacho? Huizar, boxing Internet flame wars and nation-bashing between Filipino fans and Mexican fans is totally absurd.

Huizar, like the rest of the Mexican boxing fraternity, just doesn?t get certain people?s need to use ethnic and racial slurs in support of Manny Pacquiao or any other boxer. Now handling possible future Pacman foe Humberto Soto (who challenges unbeaten Joan Guzman for the WBO super featherweight title Saturday night on HBO), the Tijuana-based promoter told Boxingconfidential.com that Megamanny gets huge respect south of the border down Mexico way.

But, as Huizar explained, the big respect for Pacman cuts two ways.

?The Mexicans have nothing but respect for Manny,? Huizar said, ?but, at the same time, they are dreaming about having someone, a Mexican fighter such as Humberto, come along to beat Pacquiao.?

Huizar spoke at Wednesday?s Guzman-Soto presser in Manhattan. It was a Double Nacho Supreme affair as venerable Mexican trainer/manager ?Nacho? Beristain was also there in support of his young, unbeaten prospect Abner Mares.

Huizar said that, if his man can dethrone Guzman, they would go gunning directly for Pacman. Guzman and his manager, Slick Jose Nunez, have the same idea.

?It?s not an easy fight with Guzman but I think Humberto will prove to have better hand speed and I know he is stronger and smarter.?

You can aptly describe Guzman-Soto as part of the Pacquaio Qualifying Trials.
