Rey ‘Boom Boom’ Bautista!

FightFan.com caught up with world title contender Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista who is deep in training for his upcoming Dec. 2 comeback fight vs. Antonio Meza. Fresh off his first professional loss, ‘Boom Boom’ is looking to get right back in the ring having learned a valuable lesson in his last fight. Don?t miss this one, only on FightFan.com!

FF: Hello Rey, how is your training going for your December 2 return?

RB: It’s going very well. I am training harder right now because I am coming off my first loss. I am determined and I will be back.

FF: A first loss is always tough for a fighter, can you tell us how you are feeling after the last fight and what you learned?

RB: It is natural to lose and I know why. I learned to be more careful with myself, even during training. A training injury can be as dangerous as an injury inside the ring. (Rey suffered a painful sprain in training prior to the fight)

FF: What do you feel went wrong in the fight with De Leon?

RB: I was over anxious and I really believed I could take him. I was just careless and I got tagged.

FF: Manny Pacquiao had a similar loss early in his career, and he came back stronger and more determined. Moving forward, do you feel this experience will help you grow as a fighter?

RB: It will. I will push myself more. I am coming off the first loss of my career. I want to keep it that way, having only one loss on my record. I want to get back at it and return to my winning ways a more experienced fighter.

FF: Tell us about your next fight. Who will be the opponent?

RB: It will be Antonio Meza, a Mexican. He is also a southpaw with a record of 23-2.

FF: What are your plans for 2008?

RB: Whatever my manager has planned for me. I am hungry and determined and will be training harder than ever for each new fight.

FF: Is there anything else you’d like to say to all the Boom-Boom fans all over the world?

RB: To all my fans, please don’t be dismayed that I lost once. It is natural to lose and maybe that was my time to learn. I can assure you, when I climb into the ring on December 2, you will see a different and improved Boom-Boom.

FF: Thanks Rey, all the best.

RB: Thank you.
