Everybody?s favorite drunk and dinosaur reporter Michael Marley is live and on the scene from the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City. Apparently Boxingconfidential?s head honcho was able to speak with the ?Bobfather? Bob Arum just minutes ago regarding possibly one of boxing?s most controversial figures, Manny ?Pacman? Pacquiao.
Here?s what Gordo Marley had to say regarding this:
?Johnny, I just spoke with Bob Arum and he gave us a real bombshell! Arum just told me face to face that Manny Pacquiao will be his guest of honor next week at his Thanksgiving dinner and will make a decision that night as to who he decides to fight on March 15th next year.?
?The fights that are currently on the table is a rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez, a fight with 135 pound WBC Champion David Diaz, and the winner of Humberto Soto-Joan Guzman. Whoever Manny decides to fight is the fighter that we will deliver to Manny as he is the boss!?
?Here?s the real bombshell Johnny!? (burps and gasps for air does Gordo Marley)
?September 15th is the day that Manny Pacquiao will be willing to step up and challenge Oscar De la Hoya. There will be no catch weight involved but rather the Pacman will be stepping up to the welterweight division!?
I ask Marley, ?I thought Oscar said that this is all a pipe dream so why does Arum keep pushing the issue??
Marley states, ?Arum told me directly that he?s discussed the possibility of this fight with Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer and that there is a large amount of interest in this bout taking place. Dodger stadium is too small for an event of this magnitude and Arum said that the Rose Bowl would be the location of choice! Over one hundred thousand people can be in attendance!?
This is all coming directly from Bob Arum?s mouth so only time will tell whether a Pacquiao-De la Hoya fight will ever come to fruition. Stay tuned for more updates from your favorite Jolly, pot-bellied reporter, Michael ?Gordo? Marley!
