FROM a total of 32 aspiring fighters, the race for the next Pinoy Boxing Star narrowed down to 16 following the first round of elimination of the ALA Gym and ABS-CBN?s ?Idolo?Search for the Next Pinoy Boxing Star.?
Talented, skilled and power punchers vie for the right to become the next boxing star, a a pet project of the ALA Gym and the Regional Network Group of ABS-CBN.
The program will be formally launched next Sunday with the primer at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. while the first episode will be aired on Nov. 11 at 10:30 a.m. It will showcase the latest batch of young and aspiring fighters from the Visayas and Mindanao.
Exciting fights await the viewers of this new boxing reality show for young fighters aging 18 to 21.
Every fight is action packed as the race for the next boxing icon narrowed down.
?We housed all this fighters and trained them for one month while ABS-CBN put all their works in tape and it will be shown. I promised the viewers of this reality show of a very exciting matches and exciting fights. Off the ring and on the ring these fighters are worth our efforts,? Cebu?s foremost boxing patron Antonio Lopez Aldeguer told Sun.Star Cebu.
The fighters to watch are Edcel Tu?acao of Opao, Mandaue City who is fighting in the 105-108-pound category; Jerome Bontog of Opao, Mandaue City; Rolito Nengasca of Japitan, Barili, Cebu and Renan Branzuela of Kawayan, Lantupan, Bukidnon in the 112-115-pound class.
Alejandro Belonguel of Samboan, Cebu and Jeofrey Maramara of Malaybalay, Bukidnon in the 118-122-pound division and Pedro Solondro of Busogon, San Remegio, Cebu; Alde de Zosa of Labogon, Mandaue City and late entry Hilario Canillas of Lutopan, Toledo City in the 126-130-pound bracket.
Aldeguer promised that this project will exceed the success of the other boxing reality shows aired over ABS-CBN.
