WITH Juan Manuel Marquez proving he was too quick and too much for Rocky Juarez?the possible opponent of Filipino ring superstar Manny Pacquiao has narrowed down.
Marquez has openly called out on Pacquiao to fight him right during the post-fight press conference last Sunday at the Desert Diamond Casino in Tuczon, Arizona.
With Marquez?s win, his promoter Golden Boy Promotions is now pursuing to close the deal to hold another joint promotion with Bob Arum?s Top Rank for the realization of this much anticipated rematch.
Oscar Dela Hoya, president and founder of the Golden Boy Promotions, felt that boxing fans are longing to watch the Pacquiao-Marquez rematch.
?If you want to be called the best at 130 pounds, you have to go through Marquez. It?s a match-up that the whole world wants to watch. It?s a match-up that has to happen,? De La Hoya told fightnews.com
GBP CEO Richard Schaffer announced that he already has initial discussion with Arum for the holding of the Pacquiao-Marquez rematch.

Schaffer will join Arum this weekend to watch the Miguel Cotto vs. Sugar Shane Mosley fight at the Madison Square Garden in New York this Sunday for the WBA welterweight title, which is the second joint promotion between the two formerly warring outfits.
Arum had earlier announced that Pacquiao is set to fight on March 15 next year and Schaffer revealed that it was Marquez who will be tapped to fight the Filipino warrior, once the Mexican dynamite wins over Juarez.
?I know that Manny Pacquiao said ?I am a Mexican killer.? He hasn?t proved it. He hasn?t proved it to me,? Marquez said during the post fight conference.
Marquez was able to pull a controversial split draw despite being knocked down thrice back in May 2004.
But after he refused to fight Pacquiao in a rematch, his career guttered and he even had to fight in Indonesia for a meager purse.
He resurrected back to stardom when he was signed up by Golden Boy Promotion middle of last year.
Marquez won the WBC super-featherweight title by beating Marco Antonio Barrera last March and the boxing body has ordered Pacquiao again to become the mandatory challenger of the Mexican champion.
