John Fury has urged Eddie Hearn to agree a fight between his son Tyson and British heavyweight rival Anthony Joshua in an expletive-laden rant against the Matchroom promoter.
Sportsmail reported earlier this month that the first draft of contracts for the highly-anticipated unification fight has been exchanged between the two parties, with only minor issues left to resolve.
But Fury Senior looked a frustrated figure when asked about the progress of the fight and called out Hearn for taking too much time to go through the details of the fight deal.
‘The way (Covid-19) is at the moment, I don’t think (it has) got much to do with the fighters. It’s to do with the venue, date, place, site fees. It’s to do with everything but the fight itself.’
Fury Senior, meanwhile, also claimed he would take well-known boxing promoter Hearn and ‘spank him like a little kid’ and branded Joshua’s promoter as ‘arrogant’.
He also promised the build-up for the two 2021 fights is expected to be better than the bout itself given the recent animosity between the two camps.
When asked for his opinions on the Hearns, John added: ‘I know Barry (Hearn, Eddie’s father). The man’s never done me no harm. He’s always been right with me, the father. I don’t know the son. He seems a bit arrogant to me.
‘He’s (Eddie Hearn) wanting putting across your knee and then… bam up the a*** and a crack round the ear hole. That’s what you get round me (if) you mess me about. Cracked up the ear hole in a second. I pull rank on them kind of people me, because I can.
‘I tell you what, the build-up will be better than the fight, because if they come near me I’ll backhand them. They want to talk to me like that, I’ll stretch them.
‘I will stretch him across my knee and spank him like a kid. I don’t care if he sees this or not, because it’s true.’
