MANILA, Philippines — Juan Manuel Marquez has thrown another jab at Manny Pacquiao.
The World Boxing Council super featherweight champion, in a report on fightnews.com, said he waited ?for an explosion that never came? from Pacquiao in the Filipino?s fight against Marco Antonio Barrera.
?They missed that explosion that everybody was expecting (from Pacquiao),? Marquez was quoted as saying in the report.
He did say that Pacquiao-Barrera II was a great fight, though.
?I was waiting for that from Pacquiao?s end. It didn?t happen.?
Pacquiao scored a unanimous decision over Barrera three weeks ago, and not being able to knock out the Mexican seemed to be the basis for Marquez?s flak.
The report also said that Marquez does not have his sights on Pacquiao yet, but on Rocky Juarez against whom he will stake his belt against on Nov. 3 in Arizona.
?The most important thing I am concentrating (on) is Nov. 3; I need to win over Rocky Juarez,? Marquez said. ?Then the negotiations (for a fight with Pacquiao). But for me all that matters is Nov. 3.?
