These days Manny Pacquiao has become a very valuable source of information for the boxing world.
After all, it was Pacquiao who formally announced on his social media accounts that he would be facing off with unified welterweight champion Errol Spence later this summer.
Upon announcing his fight with Spence, Pacquiao has again seen his name come up all over the boxing headlines. And despite being a proverbial underdog, Pac-Man is still beloved by fight fans.
Pacquiao may be 42 years old, but he still is very much a dangerous fighter and a threat to the younger Spence (31). Pacquiao’s last fight was about two years ago when he scored a knockdown over Keith Thurman and won the fight over 12 rounds. That flight took place in Las Vegas and Manny was strong and fast.
Spence was in the ring late last year when he won a unanimous decision over Danny Garcia, also over 12 rounds.
August 21st is the date of their fight and it should be an epic one. And the pay per view sales should be high. Ever since Pacquiao let it be known that he would be facing Spence, the Internet has blown up with excitement for this fight.
And for very good reason, as it pits two of the game’s best offensive fighters against one another.
And Pacquiao again stirred up the pot, as he posted an official promo video for the fight on his social media account.
The video starts by flashing back to Errol Spence’s victory over Mikey Garcia two years ago. Pacquiao was in the ring and was asked about a possible fight, and showed interest.
After that clip the video proceeded to show several highlight reel moments from each man’s respective career.
I must admit it’s a very effective video that really shows how much damage these two guys can do.
The fight is now 2 1/2 months away and may be the biggest fight to take place this year honestly, with the fallout of Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua. Classic youth vs. experience matchup.
Upon Pacquiao posting the video, it has received close to 5K likes and been shared across the internet. People are definitely talking about this fight in this video will only help matters.
The video has also been viewed on Pacquiao’s Instagram over 280,000 times. So the buzz is real.
Whatever happens with this fight, one of the main storylines is just how much of a legend Pacquiao is, win or lose, for taking such a big risk.
