MILAN Milendo kept the WBO minimum-weight Asia-Pacific minimum-weight title at the folds of the ALA Gym following a four-round TKO win over Nuapayak Sakkririn of Thailand last night in the first ever WBO title fight at the Mindanao Polytechnic Gym in Cagayan de Oro City, last Saturday night.
ALA Boy Milendo won the title with two seconds left into the fifth round as Sakkririn proved to be lesser mortal against the Cebu City-based Milendo.
Aside from getting the belt, that was vacated by Donnie Nitetes, Milendo improved is ring record to 13-0, 4 TKOs while Sakkririn dropped 6-2-1, 6 KOs.
In the undercard, Jonel Alivio (7-3-1, 4 KOs scored an upset win over the erstwhile undefeated Weng Haya (8-1-1, 5 KOs) following a split decision after a 10-round non-title event.
Madridejos puncher Fernando Otic scored a unanimous decision win over local boy Elmer Colve after 12 rounds of boxing.
Jason Pagara scored a seventh round TKO win over the highly-regarded fighter Glen Masicapo on the seventh of the scheduled 8-round contest.
