Sergio Abarca of Notimex, the government-owned news agency, believes Marco Antonio Barrera will fall short and lose by knockout.
Salvador Rodriguez of the Record newspaper said Barerra?s best chances to win is going to be in the early rounds.
“Pacquiao by KO in eight or nine rounds,” said Rodriguez, who predicts that what happened to Erik Morales in his second and third fight with Pacqquiao will happen to Barrera.
“His legs will go,” said Rodriguez.
Diego Martinez of Reforma has a different outlook, predicting that Pacquiao will win by “12-round split decision” but his father, Rafael Martinez, noted radio commentator for Radio Sonora, sees it as other would.
“Pacquiao by knockout in eight or nine rounds.”
While most of the Mexican newsmen are rooting for the Filipino, there?s one who sings a different tune although she is not that sold on a Barrera victory. Erika Montoya of La Aficion (Milenio Grupo) said “Pacquiao by unanimous decision and Barrera by KO in the early rounds.”
