Marco Antonio Barrera has taken offense at an allegation of improper hand-wrapping made by Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach. “He shouldn’t be worrying about me, he should be worrying about Manny Pacquiao,” Barrera commented today. “Worry about your own guy. This isn’t the first time I’ve fought in Vegas. I’ve fought in Vegas a lot of times and I’ve never had problems with my wrap. Everything’s been great. You know what? Freddie’s not a good trainer. Look what he did to Oscar, he helped Oscar lose. Look what he did to Israel Vazquez, Vazquez got knocked out. He’s not a very good trainer and he should worry about Manny Pacquiao.”
Although acknowledging that Pacquiao is more complete fighter that he was when they first met five years ago, Barrera says this time he will be in top form when they collide on pay-per-view in Las Vegas October 6. “My preparation was really bad for the first fight,” he revealed. “This fight I feel really good and really confident. I’ve done all my work in the training camp…..sometimes experience beats a young guy at his peak, and I have a lot of experience.”
