REY BAUTISTA gets a chance at redemption on Dec. 8 when he showcases his stuff at the historic Araneta Coliseum.
This was revealed by Bautista’s chief handler Tony Aldeguer, who revealed that the planned Big Dome slugfest is almost a done deal.
“A tough Mexican is being lined up for Rey,” Aldeguer told the Bulletin. “If they can’t tap somebody from Mexico, they’ll try to bring another Hispanic.”
Bautista was shockingly knocked out in less than a round by Daniel Ponce De Leon last August at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California, putting the Bohol-born and Cebu-based hotshot’s quest for a world title on hold.
Despite the devastating defeat, Bautista said he still has what it takes to bounce back since he is still young and remains extremely motivated to win a world title.
Bautista, 21, is under contract with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions.
