PROMISING super flyweight KJ Cataraja ends his long layoff as he headlines ALA On Tour – ?Bakbakan sa Passi? on July 26, 2019 in Passi City, Iloilo.
The 24-year-old Cataraja trades leather with Delfin de Asis in a 10-round fight.
Cataraja has not seen action in eight months since winning the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Youth super flyweight belt with a unanimous decision over Mexican Victor Hugo Reyes in November.
Despite the hiatus, Cataraja has kept himself busy in the gym and even went to Japan as one of Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue?s sparring partners.
The 26-year-old de Asis dropped his last two contests–both knockout losses to Cristival Furog and former world champion Koki Eto.
Cataraja is 9-0 with seven knockouts, while de Asis is 9-7 with six knockouts.
Two other prospects from the ALA Gym–Christian Bacolod and Fil-Japanese Go Hosaka–are also featured as main supporting bouts.
Bacolod (10-0, 7 KOs) takes on club fighter Garry Rojo (9-12-1, 5 KOs), while Hosaka (2-0, 1 KO) is in for a tough test against former WBO Asia-Pacific Youth flyweight champion Romnick Magos (12-9, 7 KOs). (EKA)
