A television crew from giant cable network HBO will be arriving in Cebu today to film the training of Manny Pacquiao and his fans as the Filipino sports hero girds for his keenly-awaited rematch with Mexican great Marco Antonio Barrera.
American trainer Freddie Roach, said the HBO crew will start shooting Pacquiao’s training chores on Thursday yet.
Aside from taking footage of Pacman’s training sessions at the RWS Gym owned by Cebuano promoter Rex “Wakee” Salud, HBO will also conduct exclusive interviews with Roach and Pacquiao on their preparations for the Barrera bout.
Roach said the footage will be used to hype up Pacquiao’s rematch with Barrera on Oct. 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada that will be made available on HBO pay-per-view.
Roach, who has programmed Pacquiao regimen which would include 150 pounds of sparring, said they plan to stay in the Philippines until Sept. 22. They will then head for Los Angeles for a one-week training before tapering off in Las Vegas.
