Manny Pacquiao?s win Saturday night was brought to you, in part, by Mayweather Promotions.
So of course after easily defeating Adrien Bronner, the Filipino star quickly turned his focus to the mostly retired former pound-for-pound king, who happened to be ringside at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
?My message is I?m still active, and if (Floyd Mayweather) goes back to the ring and wants to challenge me, I?m a champion. Get back to the ring and we will fight again if he wants,” Pacquiao told reporters. ?If he wants to come out of retirement, then announce it and challenge me. I?m a champion and I don?t pick any opponent. I?m just waiting to see who will challenge me, who will challenge for my belt.”
While Mayweather-Pacquiao was a record financial success in May 2015, it was largely a disappointment to fans, in part because it took half a decade to come to fruition, leaving both fighters on the back end of the prime.
Mayweather, who didn?t speak to reporters afterward, was last seen knocking out a 20-year-old Japanese kickboxer in a Dec. 31 boxing exhibition. He?ll turn 42 next month.
