With only two weeks left before his fight, reigning World Boxing Association welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is not only ready physically against challenger Adrien Broner on January 19 but also mentally and spiritually.
International matchmaker Sean Gibbons said that the fighting senator is holding some bible studies with his supporters at his house in Los Angeles, California heading to his fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
?The faith in God carries the Senator threw all adversity,? Gibbons told The Manila Times in an overseas call on Sunday (Saturday in the US). ?He (Pacquiao) still holds it as people comes to his house constantly, he does some bible studies and plays guitar to a lot of people.?
But Gibbons added that Pacquiao?s preparation against Broner (33-3 win-loss record with 24 knockouts) is not distracted.
?He?s a rejuvenated Manny (Pacquiao) with a lot of focus. A Manny that just feels good where the direction of his career is going,? added Gibbons. ?Senator Pacquiao is mentally and physically in the best he can be right now. He has had a fantastic camp and is feeling great.?
Nonito Donaire Sr., a part of Pacquiao?s training camp as the people?s champ official hand-wrapper, added: ?He is mentally prepared and very happy. Being happy is important before the fight. If you are mentally distracted, you have no focus and that?s a problem. But so far, I don?t see any problem and distractions.?
?He is always telling what can I say about his performance. I told him his counter-punching and cutting is good,? Donaire Sr., the father of the four-division world champion Nonito Jr., said.
