In a battle of two former world champions, Jessie Magdaleno (26-1-0, 18KOs) of Las Vegas, Nevada, fighting as a featherweight for the first time, defeated Rico Ramos (30-6-0, 14KOs) of Pico Rivera, CA by unanimous decision at The Hangar in Costa Mesa, California Saturday night (Sunday in Manila) Magdaleno won the NABF featherweight title in the process and revived his career in a new division after he was knocked out by Ghana’s Isaac Dogboe in the unsuccessful defense of his title almost one year ago. Scores: Daniel Sandoval 97-93, Carla Caiz 98-92 and Max de Luca 99-91 all in favor of Magdaleno.
