A couple of Adrien Broner look-a-likes are already on standby in Los Angeles to help Manny Pacquiao get ready for his first defense of the World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight crown on Jan. 19 in Las Vegas. Just two days into training camp, Australian conditioning coach Justin Fortune has identified two terrific Broner clones who will report for active duty as soon as they begin the most crucial stage of the preparations four weeks before the fight.
?There?s a couple of guys we know,? said Fortune.
?This?ll probably be a short camp and we?ll approach it like the (Lucas) Matthysse fight and get the same result,? said Fortune, referring to Pacquiao?s resounding knockout win over the Argentine puncher last July in Kuala Lumpur.
But Fortune swears that taking shortcuts in training will be risky.
?Everyone?s a dangerous fight for Manny because whoever many fights elevate their game,? added Fortune.
However, it hasn?t been determined yet whether Pacquiao will indeed use the Wild Card Boxing Club of Freddie Roach, who has been assigned by no less than the Filipino legend as a training supervisor and consultant.
There have been a few offers for Pacquiao to set up camp in select LA sweatshops in place of Roach?s famous place near the corner of Vine and Santa Monica in Hollywood.
