Four-division world champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes finally met President Rodrigo Duterte, almost two months after his victory in Macau, China last December.
The President personally congratulated Nietes when they met after Duterte attended two events in Cebu on Sunday.
Nietes won the world junior bantamweight title after he defeated Japanese boxer Kazuto Ioka via split decision on Dec. 31, 2018.
With his victory, Nietes joined Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire Jr. as the only Filipino boxers who have won world titles in at least four weight divisions.- with a report from Aiza Layague, ABS-CBN News
