OAKLAND — With former league MVP Russell Westbrook resting with a right knee injury, Paul George has been carrying the offensive load for the OKC Thunder as of late.
On Sunday night at the Cheasapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma, George was at it again, scoring 22 points while grabbing six rebounds and pocketing six steals to lead the Thunder past the visiting Atlanta Hawks, 113-94.
Dennis Schroder handled the point guard chores with aplomb, 20 points and six assists, while Hamidou Diallo and Alex Abrines tallied 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Alex Len was the main man for Atlanta with 18 points. Prized rookie Trae Young made 5-of-13 fields, including 2-of-5 from long distance to finish with 13. Taurean Prince also had 13 and Omari Spellman added 10.
