TigerBoxing’s ace photographer Tom Hogan was ringside for the big Golden Boy Las Vegas card “Coming to Fight.” Katsidis and Amonsot certainly did come to fight and gave performances worthy of “Fight of the Year” consideration.

KATSIDIS-AMONSOT GO TO WAR
In brutal all out fistic combat, WBO interim lightweight champion Michael Katsidis (23-0, 20 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Filipino Czar Amonsot (18-3-1, 10 KOs).
The hard-punching Katsidis started aggressively and dropped Amonsot in round two, landing consistent heavy power shots to the Filipino’s head and body. Amonsot picked himself up and landed multiple shots to the head that gave early insight into the coming brutality of this hard fought bout.
Amonsot’s head work caused multiple cuts and deep bruises to both of Katsidis eyes – at one point opening five cuts on the Aussies’ face. The bout settled into a war of attrition with Katsidis’ facial cuts and bruises worsening as the rounds continued.
Apparently feeling the urgency at hand, a desperate Katsidis came on strong in the tenth to drop Amonsot for the second time. The all out action continued until the final bell, clearly the fight of the pay per view card. Final scores were 116-110, 114-112, and 115-111 all for the Aussie warrior.
