Manny Pacquiao’s scheduled press conference with Marco Antonio Barrera today at the posh Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles has been postponed to a later date.
Bob Arum of Top Rank, which will promote the Oct. 6 fight between Pacquiao and Barrera with Golden Boy, cited “a conflict with Manny’s schedule” as the culprit.
Pacquiao was scheduled to fly to Los Angeles Monday evening to get there just in time for the press conference. But he failed to make the trip on board Philippine Airlines.
Pacquiao’s handlers tried to book him on a Northwest flight yesterday morning. Still he did not take the flight, and instead flew to Cebu in the morning to meet with his adviser Wakee Salud.
Pacquiao was originally scheduled to fly to Los Angeles last July 3, but cancelled the trip at the last minute, with his companions, trainers Buboy Fernandez and Nonoy Neri, were already at the airport.
Then last Friday, the 28-year-old boxer once again failed to board a flight to the US, apparently due to some glitches with his travel documents.
Even Pacquiao fans in the US have started wondering what’s taking him.
Pacquiao, who said he plans to begin training for the Barrera fight on the first day of August, is busy doing some recording, and some commercials over the last few days.
Reports said he’s also busy shooting his latest movie where he co-stars with bombshell Ara Mina.
