Deontay Wilder calls out Anthony Joshua ahead of Joseph Parker bout – EXCLUSIVE

Those around the Welsh capital will probably hear him before they see him.

Wilder won?t be shy in calling out Joshua, a fight he believes has to happen as soon as possible as both men are in their ?prime?.

He is keen to avoid a scenario like Floyd Mayweather?s meeting with Manny Pacquiao which took place six years too late despite the record-breaking numbers.

There will be plenty of noise made by the man known as the ?Bronze Bomber?.

When he was in town for Joshua?s win over Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley last year, the WBC heavyweight champion had a bust up at the weigh-in with Tony Bellew.

Then he was booed by the crowd inside the national stadium.

The unbeaten Alabama native plays the perfect pantomime villain for Joshua and his fan base.

Brash, arrogant, or just supremely confident, but whatever it is Wilder can rub people up the wrong way in an instant.

Marmite comes to mind for a boxer who fights in a style befitting his surname that makes for dramatic, if not pretty bouts.

Wilder?s latest win, the 40 of his career, over Cuban Luis Ortiz was the perfect example when he came through after being badly hurt by swinging huge shots that eventually crushed the challenger.

There is no doubting he is a vicious puncher with an equally-wicked tongue but away from the ring and the cameras, the 6ft 7in fighter is more of a friendly giant than the monster he plays in the boxing world.

?When you?re dealing with boxing you have to portray yourself as a certain type of person,? the 32 year old told Starsport.

?I tell people I have two different characters, two different personalities.

?In the boxing ring I?m the Bronze bomber, the Bronze Bomber is vicious, he is mean, he has a killer instinct. He believes in himself.

?When you see that same guy outside of the ring it is a beautiful transformation as after I knock guys out and I get out of the ring, you have a lovely Deontay Wilder.

?He loves people, he loves all people, he gets on with everyone. He is one of the coolest, down-to-earth, amazing guys you can ever meet. It?s day and night transformation.

?One time an old lady told me, ?You?re such a nice, young man but when you get into the ring you turn into a monster?.

?I said, ?Ma?am I have to do that because these guys are trying to take me out and I have to transform?.

?But I?m glad I can turn it on and off.?

Wilder switches off to be a family man, but it is down to his eldest daughter Naieya, who was born with spina bifida, that he put his heart and soul into boxing.

The American, who won a heavyweight bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics, had grown up wanting a career in the NBA or the NFL but it is in the ring where he earns.

He, like Joshua, was a late starter having only picked up boxing at 19 under trainer Jay Deas and within three years he was at the Olympics.

?Boxing is definitely my sport,? said Wilder. ?I never think about being big, or people knowing who I am.

?I didn?t get in the sport for that, that?s for sure.
