Ernesto Saulong doesn?t see any problems making the super-bantamweight limit of 122 lb on the eve of his bid to dethrone Ryosuke Iwasa as the International Boxing Federation (IBF) champion on March 1 in Tokyo.
Safely billeted and holed up at the Hotel Grand Palace the last two days, Saulong has been ?eating well and enjoying the serene surroundings,? according to his lead trainer Joven Jimenez.
?Right now, he is just two lbs over and that?s easy to remove considering that he?s not reducing weight,? said Jimenez.
?He?s in great shape and more than ready to take on the challenge,? added Jimenez, the man who calls the shots in Jerwin Ancajas? corner.
Rated No. 13 by the IBF, Saulong enters the scheduled 12-rounder the heavy underdog.
But Saulong feels he has prepared long and hard to make him a live underdog when he answers the bell at the 11,000-capacity Ryogoku Sumo Arena.
