A courtesy call to President Rodrigo Duterte has been arranged for world super-flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas in Malaca?ang on Wednesday.
Ancajas earned the trip to the Palace following his sixth-round stoppage of Jamie Conlan of Northern Ireland in Belfast last Nov. 18.
It was Ancajas? third defense of his International Boxing Federation 115-lb crown which he won last year from Puerto Rican McJoe Arroyo.
Joven Jimenes, who manages and trains Ancajas, will accompany him during the landmark meeting with the Chief Executive.
Ancajas has kicked off his buildup for the fourth defense of his title set Feb. 3 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
A top Mexican puncher is being eyed to challenge Ancajas, who will make his US debut on a show that will be staged by Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank.
