Filipino promoter Rod Nazario, who used to be Manny Pacquiao’s business manager, is willing to save the Muhammad Rachman versus Florante Condes IBF minimumweight title clash from being scrapped. “Yeah, I am going to stage it here in the Philippines if Indonesia fails to promote it,” Nazario told Fightnews.com on Monday. Indonesian promoters have been having a hard time raising funds for the title fight that was originally scheduled for April and Nazario is willing to come to the rescue and hold it at a venue on the outskirts of Manila. “The NBC Tent,” a venue for numerous concerts and boxing shows will hold the fight,” said somebody close to Nazario. The hard-hitting Condes is managed by former fighter Aljoe Jaro, who also shares managerial rights with a Puerto Rican fight figure based in the States. The IBF has been informed about Indonesia’s dilemma and the New Jersey-based governing body is reportedly giving the go-signal for interested parties like Nazario to promote it as it is giving the Indonesians until the second week of July to clean up the mess. Nazario, who is being backed by long-time associates Ramon Lainez, Lito Mondejar and Gerry Garcia, is one of the Philippines’ most influential boxing personalities.
