Pacquiao To Concentrate On Studies, Boxing After Election Loss

Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, looking at peace with himself, has told GMA-7 that he will now concentrate on his boxing and will go back to school while at the same time thanking all his friends and kins for their support in his failed electoral bid.

“I am planning to take up Political Science, so that people will not look down on me,” Pacquiao told GMA.

According to the fire-breathing boxing superstar, there have been proposals that he take up Political Science at the country’s top school and premier state university, the University of the Philippines (UP).

(Editor’s Note: Should Pacquiao end up enrolling at the University of the Philippines, he will then join boxing judge Salven Lagumbay as a product of UP, the latter being a business degree holder of the topnotch school and does boxing journalism at the side).

Other proposals suggested to the boxing hero include other top schools like Ateneo De Manila University and De la Salle University, as well as the Notre Dame University.

Pacquiao, however, also said that boxing will also remain on top of his priority list, as he now looks forward to a possible September or October 6 fight possibly against any of the top dogs in the 130-lb division.
