McGregor, the first fighter in UFC history to hold two titles simultaneously, takes on the former five-weight world champion in a multi-million dollar boxing match on August 26.
Mayweather vs. McGregor, a contest which was first mooted in May 2016, will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
McGregor’s chances of defeating 40-year-old Mayweather have written off by many of the fight’s detractors, who believe ‘The Notorious’ faces a near impossible task to make the final bell.
It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that Mayweather, who came out of retirement in March, puts on a clinic and schools McGregor for 12 straight rounds, or worse, knocks him out with ease.
Many believe latter result would almost certainly do irreparable damage to his reputation, mixed martial arts and the UFC.
White, who initially dismissed suggestions of Mayweather vs McGregor ever happening, wholeheartedly disagrees with that notion.
?Absolutely not,? White said on media conference call a few hours after the ‘Billion Dollar Fight’ was announced.
