MANILA ?- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday doubted the authenticity of the supposed threat on the life of Filipino boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao who is running for congressman in General Santos City in the May 14 elections.
Contrary to the claim of Pacquiao that there is raw intelligence information that he is due for assassination by his opponent, reelectionist Darlene Custodio-Antonino, the PNP said there is no such report.
PNP spokesman Samuel Pagdilao said they have already coordinated with the Central Mindanao regional police office, which has jurisdiction over General Santos City, on the alleged death threat being received by the boxer. (VR/Sunnex)
