Freddie Roach wants to beef up Manny Pacquiao?s shallow roster of sparring partners by importing world-ranked lightweight George Kambosos Jr., who reminds the Hall of Fame trainer of Jeff Horn, the Australian banger Pacquiao is facing on July 2 in Brisbane.
Currently, Pacquiao works with two local sparmates during the thrice-a-week sessions.
But Roach feels the present setup will not push Pacquiao to the limit, believing that the 23-year-old Kambosos will achieve that purpose.
?I would like to bring him over because he reminds me of Horn,? said Roach.
Kambosos, also 5-9 in height like Pacquiao, is rated ninth by the WBA, holds a 12-0 record with six KOs and is a regular at Roach?s Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.
