Floyd Mayweather Jr will be built for speed when he takes on Oscar De La Hoya in boxing’s fight of the decade in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
Mayweather came in 4lbs under the light-middleweight limit for the WBC title showdown with the ‘Golden Boy’ here in the MGM Grand.
The ‘Pretty Boy’, accompanied to the stage by rapper 50 Cent, tipped the scales at 150lbs in front of a frenzied crowd of 7,000 fans in the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Friday afternoon.
The defending champion De La Hoya meanwhile came in right on the money at 154, giving him a notable size advantage for Saturday’s bout.
But Mayweather will count on his speed and dazzling boxing ability to nullify that.
