Manny Pacquiao vs Jeff Horn was a fun fight in which the underdog truly exceeded expectations against one of the greats in boxing. But there?s a difference between performing better than what people thought to actually winning rounds, and the scorecards left a lot to be desired.
All three judges gave the hometown fighter in Horn a decision victory, which most media outlets and analysts disagreed on. Judges Chris Flores and Ramon Cerdan both had it 115-113 for Horn. Perhaps more interesting is that Waleska Roldan had it as a blowout, scoring it 117-111 for the Aussie.

Round 9 was where the referee nearly called the fight as Horn was wobbly and defenseless for a very long stretch. It could?ve easily been scored a 10-8, but at least all three of them managed to score it for Pacquiao, with a 10-9.
How did a judge end up with 117-111? Well Roldan somehow had Pacquiao losing every round except for the 3rd, 8th, and 9th.
While punch statistics for the entire fight isn?t really a metric for judging round by round, the numbers show Pacquiao landing significantly more. According to ESPN, the Filipino landed 182 out of 573 punches (32%), and Horn scored with just 92 of his 625 attempts (15%). Pacquiao also edged him in the power punches, landing 123 out of 380 shots (32%) to Horn?s 73 out of 428 (15%).
