Despite a winning IBF purse bid (US$25,000) this month, the IBF strawweight title fight between Muhammad Rachman (Indonesia) and Florante Condes (the Philippines) has yet to be confirmed, although it’s been scheduled on June 16 in Jakarta. Today it was reported that Condes has agreed to fight with the minimum purse (around US$3,750) as Condes is confident to dethrone Rachman then he can earn much more money in the future. However, from the Indonesian side, they haven’t received any signed contract from Condes. Martinez dos Santos, Rachman’s manager, informed that they are eagerly waiting for Condes’ signed contract. “The deadline of April 20 to get both boxers’ signed contract has passed, but none of us has received Condes’ signed contract. I don’t know why,” said dos Santos. “We are still waiting for Condes, but at the same time, we are also finding other opponents for Rachman,” he continued. Rachman vs Condes is predicted as a brutal war as both are agressive fighters. Rachman is known as a veteran with strong and accurate punches, while the lefty Florante Condes is tagged as “the Little Pacquiao” for his resemblance in his physical performance with Manny and bombs in both his hands.
